Negotiations on the EU-UK partnership after Brexit will start in early March, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Twitter.
“The mandate has been approved, we are ready to start. Negotiations will begin in the week that begins on March 2”, – said the head of the EC.
According to her, the parties are ready for a close and ambitious partnership.
Earlier, the Council for Common EU Affairs approved a negotiating mandate, which gave the EC the authority to negotiate with the UK.
