Over 950 refugees from Jordan and Lebanon returned to Syria within 24 hours

More than 950 refugees returned to Syria from foreign territories in the past 24 hours, according to the newsletter of the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties and control of refugee movement.

“In the past 24 hours, 960 refugees returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from foreign territories, including 232 from Lebanon at the Jeidet Yabus and Tell Kalah checkpoints (70 women and 118 children) and 728 from Jordan at the Nasib checkpoint (218 women and 371 children)”, –  the bulletin says.

It is added that the engineering units of the Syrian Armed Forces have carried out demining tasks in Duma (Damascus province), Jassim and Al-Harra (Deraa province) within 24 hours. Specialists cleared 2 hectares of land and 30 explosive ordnance items were found and destroyed within 24 hours.
The armed conflict in Syria has continued since 2011. At the end of 2017, it was announced that the ISIS terrorist group had been defeated in Syria and Iraq. Militant clean-up operations continue in parts of the country. The political settlement, reconstruction of Syria, as well as the return of refugees are now in the foreground.
