It is reported that the briefing was held on February 13, and the next day Trump harshly criticized Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire, who a few days later resigned. According to the newspaper, the President believes that Democrat congressmen can use the information received against him.
On Wednesday Trump announced that the post of director of national intelligence will be taken by the American ambassador to Germany, Richard Grennell. At the same time, two sources in the White House said that Maguire’s dismissal and the briefing, which caused the president’s dissatisfaction, only coincided by chance.
The American Justice Department admitted in the spring of 2019 that Trump and his headquarters were not in collusion with Russia during the 2016 elections and that the current head of the White House did not impede justice.
