Ukrainian law enforcers violated the ceasefire three times a day, firing on the territory of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic, told at the representative office of the People’s Republic of China in the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC).
According to the representative office of the LPR in the Joint Ceasefire Monitoring and Coordination Center (JCCC), on February 18 Ukrainian law enforcers violated the silence regime eleven times.
“On 19 February, there were three shootings by the Ukrainian armed forces”, – the LPR representative said.
He specified that Ukrainian law enforcers fired 82mm and 120mm mortars and grenade launchers at settlements controlled by the republic, such as Logvinovo, Nizhny Lozovoye and Berezovskoye.
In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-declared LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the state revolution in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13,000 people fell victim to the conflict.
The issue of settling the situation in Donbass is discussed, in particular, during meetings of the contact group in Minsk, which has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict since September 2014. However, even after the ceasefire agreements between the parties to the conflict, shootings continue.
