The health of Senator Bernie Sanders was the subject of discussion at the TV debates of candidates for presidency from the Democratic Party of the United States.
Sanders, who is 78 years old, is the leader in public opinion polls among Democrats. In October, he suffered a heart attack, had an aortocoronary bypass surgery.
Candidates Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttidzic urged Sanders to publish all medical documents related to his health condition. Buttidzic said “transparency matters”, although he said he cared more about how Sanders would provide health insurance to ordinary Americans.
Sanders responded by saying he had published medical records and that he was not hiding anything. When asked if he would still publish any medical information, Saunders replied, – “I don’t think we will”.
Saunders’ representative Brian Joy Gray on CNN Wednesday compared calls for Saunders to publish detailed documents about his health with attempts to vilify the candidate.
