Russia and Qatar sign a memorandum of cooperation on antiterrorism

The Office of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and the National Security Agency of Qatar will exchange views on cooperation in combating terrorism and transnational crime, as well as on security issues in the Middle East region.

The relevant memorandum of understanding was signed in Doha by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev and Director of the National Security Agency of Qatar Abdallah Al-Huleifi.
The document provides a framework for regular consultations and exchange of views on issues related to national, regional and international security of mutual interest. In particular, according to the memorandum, the parties agreed to further discuss security issues in the Middle East and North Africa region, cooperation in combating international terrorism, drug trafficking, human trafficking, arms smuggling, piracy, cybercrime, money-laundering, economic and other transnational crimes.
The Secretary of the Russian Security Council is in Doha on a two-day visit.
