The US insists that Russia free Ukrainians who illegally fish in the Sea of Azov. Such a statement during a telephone press conference was made by US Ambassador to the OSCE James Gilmore.
“The United States is demanding the immediate release and return to Ukraine of all Ukrainians who are illegally detained in Russia, including these fishermen,” the official said.
According to him, the fight against poachers who were caught red-handed is contrary to international law.
As News Front previously reported, on Saturday, February 15, a small fishing vessel with four Ukrainians on board was detained by officers of the FSB border department in the western part of the Sea of Azov.
On board revealed 290 copies of flounder-Kalkan, as well as a banned fixed network. At the same time, Ukrainians could not provide any documents.
