In Almaty, extremists who were preparing terrorist attacks were detained

Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee officials detained two extremists in Almaty who were planning terrorist attacks in crowded areas, the committee’s press office said.


The suspects were detained February 14 and arrested by court order, the committee press office said.

“Investigations at their place of residence involved the seizure of an improvised explosive device with hitting elements, components for its manufacture, cold weapons, smartphones with photo and video recordings of the alleged targets”, –  the press release said.

Criminal cases have been stirred up.
