Representatives of the American diplomatic agency promised to continue to support Ukraine.
On February 18, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov met with State Department counterterrorism coordinator Nathan Sales and US Charge d’Affaires in Ukraine Christina Quinn.
“With the coordinator for countering terrorism, US Deputy Secretary of State Nathan Sails determined the practical steps for cooperation between Ukraine and the United States in the fight against terrorism, discussed the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass – only a decisive position and joint actions by partner countries will stop the impudent aggression of the Russian Federation!” Avakov wrote on social network page.
For his part, Sales expressed condolences to Avakov in connection with the losses among the Armed Forces servicemen and the aggravation of the situation on the demarcation line, as usual transferring all the blame to the defenders of Donbass.
“The US government expresses its sincere condolences to the Ukrainian people in connection with the attack by pro-Russian forces and the aggravation of the situation on the front sector, in the Luhansk region. The issue of Ukraine’s territorial integrity remains a priority for the USA, ”the American diplomat noted.
