“President Trump said that the United States would like Russia to stop supporting the atrocities of the Assad regime (Syrian President Bashar Assad-IF), and spoke out in favor of a political solution to the Syrian conflict,” Deere said in a statement.

According to him, Trump also said that “further foreign intervention in Libya will only worsen the situation.”

The American president expressed concern about the situation in the Syrian province of Idlib and “thanked Erdogan for Turkey’s efforts to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.”

Earlier, the Erdogan administration said that during the conversation the parties “exchanged views on the immediate termination of the crisis in the Idlib de-escalation zone.”

In addition, the presidents discussed ways to restore stability in Libya.
