The foreign ministers of the 27 EU member states have agreed on the creation of a new naval mission to monitor compliance with the arms embargo against Libya. This was announced by Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Mayo.
“Finally, we all, as EU member states, agreed to create a mission that will block arms supplies to Libya. Now the EU is committed to blocking the flow of arms into Libya through an air, naval and ground mission. In Libya, we are all working to achieve a long ceasefire, but if weapons continue to flow from everywhere, it’s impossible to achieve, ”said Di Mayo.
