States whose citizens died in a UIA plane shot down by an Iranian missile reserve the right to apply to international institutions.
This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadim Priestayko.
The ministers of the five states in Munich made a statement that Iran is not able to decrypt the “black boxes” and should give them to decrypt the other side. In addition, we are talking about the need to conduct a criminal investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice, as well as the need to pay compensation to the families of the victims.
Pristayko noted that Ukraine expects relatively quick action by Iran. “We do not plan to wait long. We are talking about weeks and months, not years. ” And in the absence of actions that Ukraine and other states are counting on, they can file a lawsuit in international courts.
“We reserve the right to use international legal instruments, but so far we are hoping for Iran’s actions,” he said.
