The President of Turkey intends to announce new measures to be taken by Ankara on February 12.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the Syrian government will pay a “very high price” for its actions against Turkish forces. He intends to announce new steps in Syria on February 12, after the Turkish military came under fire in Idlib.
“The regime [of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad] was severely damaged in Idlib, but it is not enough. They will pay a heavy price for attacking our military. Tomorrow I will announce the steps we will take” , – Turkish leader said during a speech in Ankara.
The situation in Idlib escalated sharply after the Russian and Turkish military made another attempt to impose a regime of silence, but the terrorists only intensified their attacks. As a result, military specialists from Russia and Turkey were killed. The Syrian army responded to the extremists by taking the town of Saraqib near Idlib on February 5.
In addition, on 3 and 10 February, the Turkish military came under fire twice by the Syrian army, killing ten soldiers and three civilian personnel.
