Putin noted the contribution of Russian diplomats to the settlement in Syria

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian diplomats on their professional holiday and noted their contribution to stabilizing the situation in Syria, said the Kremlin press service.


The head of state stressed that Russian diplomacy has always been decisive and consistent in protecting and defending the interests of the country.

“Thanks largely to the effective work of the Russian Foreign Ministry, it was possible to achieve some stabilization of the situation in Syria and to launch an inter-Syrian constitutional process. Tangible results have been achieved in the development of the Eurasian integration and foreign relations of EurAsEC, as well as allied relations within the framework of the CSTO,” Putin said in his congratulatory message.
He also noted the strengthening of cooperation with China, India, other Eurasian countries, Latin American countries, as well as the entry to a new level of dialogue with African countries.
“At the same time, the international situation is becoming more turbulent, which means even more active actions are needed to ensure strategic stability, formation of a just world order. To this end, we should make full use of our positions in the UN Security Council, the opportunities offered by Russia’s current presidency of SCO and BRICS, participation in the G20, APEC and other multilateral structures”, –  Putin added.
