Kiev plans to create two military bases near the DPR and LPR. This statement was made by Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Zagorodniuk.
This decision was made to strengthen the military potential of the country and promote the development of the region’s economy. In addition, Kiev believes that the creation of military facilities will change the demographic situation in the country by increasing the population loyal to the authorities.
Zagorodniuk said that work on the construction of bases should begin before the end of the year. According to him, the facilities will be built according to NATO standards.
In late January, representatives of the DPR in the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC) said that Ukrainian troops were shelling in the vicinity of the pilot site for the separation of forces and equipment in Petrovsky in order to disrupt the process of the separation of troops in the Donbass.
