Russia and Mexico to expand dialogue with Latin American associations

Russia, with the assistance of Mexico, will expand dialogue with Latin American integration associations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said following a working meeting with Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard in Mexico City.

“The parties expressed their mutual readiness to promote dialogue between Russia and the various integration associations of Latin America and the Caribbean, paying particular attention to the Mexican presidency in the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States of CELAC”, – Lavrov said at a press conference.

According to the Foreign Minister, Russia welcomes the plans of Mexican colleagues to use their chairmanship to strengthen CELAC and expand its external relations, including those  with our country.

Sergey Lavrov’s current visit to Mexico is the third since he was appointed Russian Foreign Minister (before that he was here in 2005 and 2010).
