Lavrov called US sanctions against Venezuela outrageous

The US sanctions hit the humanitarian sector of Venezuela, this is outrageous, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“It is especially outrageous that unilateral American actions have a negative impact on the implementation of social and humanitarian projects. It’s enough to mention a glaring example of the consequences of banking restrictions, I mean blocking the cancer treatment program, which was carried out through joint projects of Venezuela and Spain”, – Lavrov said on meeting with representatives of the Venezuelan Round Table on National Dialogue.

The Russian minister arrived in Caracas the day after the talks in Mexico City. The last time Lavrov visited Caracas in 2011, when Hugo Chavez was still alive.
