Moscow is ready to enter into agreements with Britain after its withdrawal from the European Union, this is an objective reality, without a legal framework is impossible to maintain relations, said Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.
Great Britain left the European Union at 23.00 on January 31, having finished three and a half year process. After Brexit, the transition period begins, during which London will have to agree with other countries on formats for cooperation in all areas.
“We are ready to enter into agreements with Britain after its withdrawal from the European Union, this is an objective reality. It is impossible to maintain relations with the country if there is no legal framework”, – said Grushko.
“Brexit is a new beginning in relations between Russia and Britain, because relations can’t develop in a legal vacuum and uncertainty, so sooner or later this task will have to be solved through negotiations”, – he added.
