Russophobian campaign in PACE failed miserably

The winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe ended on an extremely favorable note for Russia.

Such a statement on Friday, January 31, was made by the representative of the Russian delegation to PACE, State Duma deputy Leonid Slutsky.

So, he drew attention to the fact that the credentials of the Russian delegation were fully confirmed. 96 votes were cast in favor of the Russian Federation against 44. Thus, Russophobes remained in the minority. Moreover, the head of the Russian delegation, Pyotr Tolstoy, was elected PACE Vice-President, which will allow Moscow to formulate the agenda of the assembly.

Russia was also able to make a declaration in defense of historical truth amid attempts by Western countries to pervert the history of World War II. The document was signed by 77 PACE delegates with 20 required for publication.
