German Ambassador spoke about the expected launch dates for Nord Stream 2

Germany expects the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline no later than the first quarter of 2021. This was stated by the Ambassador of Germany to Russia, Geza Andreas von Geir, at a meeting with students of the Ural Federal University.

“Based on the results of my conversations with Miller, I can say that the project should be completed and its launch should take place at the end of 2020 or at the latest in the first quarter of 2021,” the TASS diplomat quotes.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the completion of the pipeline would be postponed for several months. According to him, the project can be put into operation before the end of this year or in the first quarter of 2021.

As Gazprom Chairman Alexei Miller noted, Russia does not have technological obstacles in order to independently complete the gas pipeline.
