The Minsk agreements are just paper: Zelensky said that it is not necessary to comply with the agreements on the Donbass

The Minsk agreements, which still remain the only agreed document, which leads to a political settlement of the conflict in the Donbass, Vladimir Zelensky called only an occasion for meetings.

In an interview with the Israeli Ninth Channel, the President of Ukraine said that he did not consider it necessary to comply with the agreements that his predecessor had signed.

“The Minsk agreements are the only thing we have today. Do you follow them, or do not follow, strictly follow or want to rewrite, but this is only paper, a document. This is an object that makes it possible to meet”, – said the guarantor.

At the same time, Zelensky noted that some kind of alternative options are already being worked on in Ukraine.

As News Front previously reported, the representative of Ukraine at the talks in Minsk said that the punitive operation in the Donbass would not stop until a “new position” was adopted by Kiev regarding earlier agreements. So, the Ukrainian side expects to amend the Minsk agreements on the issue of border control between the republics of Donbass and Russia.
