Russian President Vladimir Putin told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about his visit to Damascus.
They discussed the situation in Syria, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists.
“Yesterday, the President’s visit to Israel took place. The theme was Holocaust remembrance, memory of our veterans, memory of the St. Petersburg blockade. Very warm opening ceremony of the monument in Jerusalem was arranged by the Israeli side”, – said Peskov.
However, according to Peskov, there were quite intense meetings, primarily with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
“The president has already talked about it himself, but discussed regional affairs and conflict situations. First of all, of course, the president told about his recent trip to Damascus. We discussed Syrian affairs, discussed those aspects that are of greatest concern to Israeli colleagues. We compared positions on other topics and talked. And bilateral relations”, – said the spokesman for the President.
