The US ambassador to Moldova, Derek Hogan, was spotted the day before at the office of the pro-Western opposition party Action and Solidarity, led by ex-Prime Minister Maya Sandu.
Later, Sandu herself confirmed the information about the visit of the American diplomat. She did not disclose the details of the negotiations, noting only that she thanked Hogan for the support that he provided to her cabinet.
“We continue to count on the support of the USA and the American people in the development of the Republic of Moldova, the fight against corruption, the reform of justice and the strengthening of democracy,” Sandu wrote on the social network.
