Turkey stands ready to assist Libya in resolving the conflict

Turkey believes that Libyans should agree on a settlement themselves, but external players – Russia and Turkey – can help if support is needed, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told on the fields of  the World Economic Forum in Davos.

“We prefer them to communicate with each other. In the future, if they need help or mediation, maybe the UN should be more involved, and if Libya needs the support or assistance of players like us, we can do it”, –  he said.

The Minister added that in Libya, Turkey prefers a 5+5 military committee to work for a sustainable ceasefire and then discuss other issues.
