Ukraine no longer wants a customs union with the EU

The Kiev vector for integration into the customs union with the EU is no longer relevant. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Dmitry Kuleba.

“We abandoned the idea of joining the customs union with the EU, but we want to simplify all customs procedures as much as possible, integrate Ukraine into the maximum number of formats,” Kuleba said.

After the words of the statesman, one question begs the question: if official Kiev has changed its mind about joining the customs union with Europe, but cherishes hopes for customs reforms, are the Ukrainian authorities not going to ask for the Eurasian Economic Union?
