Former President of Poland Lech Wałęsa initiated a new round of socio-political tension, calling on social networks to go out to overthrow the current government in the republic.
Lech Wałęsa, who a few days ago openly opposed the confrontation with Russia in the historical field, went against the current government in the country again. The day before, he posted on Facebook that members of the ruling Law and Justice party had already accepted “the call for the overthrow of the democratically elected government in the street to be riots.” So Wałęsa wrote:
“I, Lech Wałęsa, ask all the people fighting and building the “Solidarity” in 1980, Polish patriots: we must do everything possible to set aside the current officials as soon as possible. What they do and how they do it destroys our achievements, it contradicts the interests of our country. What President Duda says, what Prime Minister Moravecki, Minister of Justice Ziobro and politician Rydzyk (director of the Catholic Radio Maryja. – EADaily) say are insidious manipulations and lies”.
The ex-president of Poland added that he hopes that “his compatriots will not be fooled, and we will take care of this with the help of an election card”.
“I ask you about this, if not, then we will meet according to street criteria”, – summed up the former politician.
Polish Sejm deputy Radoslaw Vogel, evaluating the words of Walesa, said that the ex-president’s appeal was “outrageous and completely unacceptable”.
“Wałęsa would like to overthrow the government that he doesn’t like during the riots, including because of his historical policies”, – Vogel emphasized.
EADaily adds that in the days of sharp worsening of Russian-Polish relations, former Polish President Lech Wałęsa sided with Russia, condemning the current leader of the country, Andrzej Dudu, for not inviting Russian President Vladimir Putin to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz (the event will take place in a week January 27, 2020).
“First of all, it was necessary to invite Putin to Auschwitz and bluntly say that the Russians had liberated the camp”, – Onet quoted Wałęsa as saying. – This is historical truth, and no one will change it. If the Polish government wants to create its own historical narrative, this is not serious”.
