In Belarus, the Minister of Defense has changed

Monday, January 20, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko appointed Viktor Khrenin Minister of Defense.

Prior to that, he was the commander of the Western Operational Command of the Armed Forces. This was reported by Sputnik Belarus.

“President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has today considered personnel issues and decided to appoint new Minister of Defense and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces. General Viktor Khrenin, who was the commander of the troops of the Western Operational Command, will take the post of head of the military department”, –  reads the agency report.

In addition, Major General Alexander Volfovich, who previously worked as the first deputy chief of the General Staff, was appointed Chief of General Staff.
