A short tenure as Vice-Premier and Interior Minister of Moldova is the best that could happen in the political career of the leader of the opposition party “Dignity and Truth” Andrei Nastase. He does not shine more.
This was told by the political columnist Boris Shapovalov.
According to him, the politician Nestase’s career can be considered completed, because in a short time he lost not only his seat in the government, but also his chance to become Chisinau’s general mayor.
“After the defeat in the local elections, after Nestase withdrew his candidacy in favor of Maya Sandu in the previous presidential elections, it is not known who forced him to do this: American “partners” or European – his authority collapsed”, – the expert explains.
He emphasized that the decisive fact was that Nastase was supported by the liberals in the race for the post of the city mayor. After that, he had no chance to become an important politician in Moldova.
“Andrei Nastase shot his own and now he can pack his bags and go to his family in Germany, be a wonderful husband and father. In Moldova, his political career ended”, – said Shapovalov.
