The Stuttgart High Regional Court sentenced a former member of the Syrian terrorist militia, Jabhat al-Nusr, to life imprisonment.
The court found a 31-year-old man guilty of murder twice in connection with a massacre in a landfill in Syria. In addition, he was implicated in 17 other killings as the instigator of the group, according to the court.
The Public Defence Senate considered the guilt particularly serious. Three other defendants were sentenced to terms of imprisonment ranging from three to eight years.
The victims were members of the regular Syrian army and police. All four men, like tens of thousands of others, entered as “refugees” and had recently lived in different cities in Germany.
