The American military presence in Afghanistan did not contribute in any way to strengthening the statehood of the republic. But the U.S. has turned it into a world heroin machine and an excellent mechanism for money laundering.
This was told by retired U.S. Army Colonel Douglas McGregor on Fox News.
According to him, to date, the U.S. administration uses already hackneyed explanations why it is allegedly impossible to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. Thus, Washington claims that the Afghan government will be at a disadvantage.
“In reality, there’s no difference in when we leave, because it’ll all fall apart anyway. At least the good thing is that we stop sponsoring corruption, sponsoring Afghanistan, the world’s heroin machine that he’s become in front of us”, – McGregor says.
At the same time, he emphasizes that neither the U.S. media nor U.S. military commanders will tell the truth about what was happening in Afghanistan with the help of the United States, because no one wants to show their involvement. While some people had died in Afghanistan, others had made a fortune laundering money there, allegedly aimed at strengthening the US army.
“Creators of this policy, like Joe Biden and others, they prefer to avoid being brought up for discussion, and no one wants to find out where the finances went, how many got rich on it. Both contractors and people with connections in the system – the money laundering system both in Afghanistan and around the world – through contracts supposedly contributing to our troops”, – continues the retired military.
McGregor added that only Donald Trump could make a difference at the moment. However, although he promised to curtail the American presence in Afghanistan, he has not fulfilled his promise. “He has disappointed many people with this. “He’ll be able to withdraw our troops at least tomorrow. Only first he has to expel from the Oval Office those who convince him that the consequences will be very bad”, – said the colonel.
As reported by News Front, earlier in the U.S. released declassified government documents, containing statements of military and officials who somehow took part in the armed conflict. According to the released information, the heads of terrorist groups were eliminated, captured or fleeing six months after the beginning of the invasion. But because of many mistakes, the war dragged on for almost two decades, becoming a conflict “that cannot be won”.
