Through the efforts of the former Prime Minister of Moldova Maya Sandu, the interests of the Republic’s citizens were sold to Western creditors for another tranche. At the same time, several generations of Moldovans have to pay debts.
This was stated by journalist Sergei Tkacz, assessing the information disclosed by the International Monetary Fund about the $46.5 million loan deal, which Sandu concluded behind the back of the people.
According to the journalist, through the efforts of the pro-western government of Sandu, the life of Moldovans will become more difficult. Thus, the banking system has been systematically transferred under Western control. The transfer of three large banks to external “partners” is almost completed, and soon, as Tkacz points out, small Moldovan banking structures will also pass through this mechanism.
The IMF’s position on the notorious “theft of the century” also looks quite ambiguous. It consists in the fact that the obligation to reimburse the money stolen from the banking system, that is, a billion dollars, will fall on ordinary Moldovans. And this is not counting the increase of taxes and tariffs for gas with electricity. The Moldovans, in particular, have been paying more for electricity since October last year. The gas situation has been “frozen” thanks to the resignation of the Sandu government.
According to the Moldovan TV channel TVC, the IMF refused to comment on the details of the deal, citing the fact that the fund reacts only to official statements of the country’s leadership.
As reported earlier by the News Front, the Sandu Prime Minister led Moldova to a political crisis when the head of government tried to get the right to nominate candidates for the post of Prosecutor General on his own. Moreover, the decision was taken outside Parliament and under the responsibility of the Cabinet of Ministers. Thus, the only way to prevent the implementation of the “reform” was to dissolve the executive body, which ultimately happened.
