In the Ionian Sea near the Paxi Islands, 12 people died as a result of a shipwreck.
According to preliminary data from the Greek coast guard, about 50 people could be on board a ship with illegal migrants. It is known that 21 of them were saved.
Currently, a search and rescue operation is being conducted in the area of the incident. Six coastguard patrol vessels and two helicopters are involved in it.
