The Spanish Prime Minister and the leader of Catalonia will meet after the formation of the new government

Pedro Sanchez and Kim Torra have not yet decided whether the meeting will take place in Madrid or Barcelona.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and the head of the Catalan Cabinet, Kim Torra, agreed to meet after the formation of the government of the Iberian kingdom. This was reported to journalists on Thursday in the Cabinet of Ministers of the country.

It was specified that Sanchez and Torra held a telephone conversation, “during which they touched upon the current political situation. “They agreed to hold a meeting after the formation of the Spanish government, although they have not yet decided whether the meeting will be held in Madrid or Barcelona”, –  the Cabinet specified. – Sanchez told Torre that, on the one hand, he wants to resume the dialogue and, on the other hand, he has a sincere desire to try to resolve the political conflict in Catalonia.

On 7 January, the Congress of Deputies (lower house of parliament) of Spain approved Sanchez’s candidacy for prime minister. He is expected to name a new government next week.
