Ukrainian law enforcers broke the ceasefire in Donbas four times in the past 24 hours, the self-appointed Donetsk People’s Republic representative office at the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCCC) told journalists on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Donetsk People’s Republic reported on two violations of the ceasefire by Ukrainian law enforcers during the day.
“Over the past 24 hours, the total number of violations on the part of the armed groups of Ukraine has amounted to four times”, – a representative of the DPR at the JCCC said.
The Ukrainian security forces fired grenade launchers and small arms, he said.
In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-declared LNR and DNR, which declared independence after the state revolution in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13,000 people fell victim to the conflict.
The issue of resolving the situation in Donbas is being discussed, including during meetings of the contact group in Minsk, which has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict since September 2014. However, even after the ceasefire agreements between the parties to the conflict, shootings continue.
