Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of China Liu He will visit the U.S. from January 13-15 to sign the first part of the trade deal, said on Thursday an official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce Gao Feng.
“At the invitation of the U.S. side, Vice Premier Le Hae-he will head a delegation on trade and economic issues to Washington from January 13-15 to sign the first part of the trade deal with the U.S.”, – Gao Feng said at a briefing.
China and the U.S. announced on December 13 that they agreed on the text of the first part of the trade agreement. Under this agreement, the parties agreed not to introduce new duties on each other, which were to come into force on December 15. U.S. trade representative Robert Leightheiser said that the signing of the first phase of the trade agreement between the U.S. and China will be held in early January 2020.
