Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence in the future successful cooperation between Russia and Turkey in various fields.
“I am confident that in the future Russia and Turkey will implement many more mutually beneficial joint projects both in the energy and other fields. Together we can solve any of the most complex and ambitious tasks for the benefit of our countries, our peoples, for the benefit of our neighbors and partners” – Putin said at the opening ceremony of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.
He expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkey and, in particular, to the president of this country “for the political will shown in the implementation of projects of national importance and meeting the national interests of his country.”
“When laying the Turkish Stream, advanced innovative technologies were applied, which allowed us to ensure the maximum economic efficiency of gas transportation, guarantee the safety and environmental friendliness of the pipeline,” Putin said at the opening ceremony of the gas pipeline on Wednesday.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that his country would defend its interests in the Mediterranean without creating hotbeds of tension.
“Our goal is to make Turkey a global energy center. Turkey does not want to achieve any global tension. The only goal is to protect our interests,” said Erdogan, speaking at the opening ceremony of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.
