Iraq claims that coalition bases were hit by 22 missiles

The Iraqi military made a statement about Iranian ballistic missiles striking bases where U.S. troops are stationed early Wednesday morning.

The statement said a total of 22 missiles targeted coalition bases, 17 of which struck Al-Assad Air Base in Anbar province, including two that did not explode.

Five missiles hit a base in Erbil Province, northern Iraq, the statement said.

The strikes, which occurred between 1:45am and 2:15am local time on Wednesday, did not affect Iraqi security forces.
