German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel will pay a working visit to Russia on January 11 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin’s press service reports.
During the talks, it is planned to discuss “relevant topics on the international agenda, including the situation in Syria, Libya, the escalation of tension in the Middle East as a result of an American air strike on Baghdad airport on January 3”, – the statement said.
According to the press service, the issues of resolving the intra-Ukrainian conflict will also be examined in the context of the implementation of the Minsk “Package of Measures” of 2015 and the agreements reached at the summit in the “Norman format” on December 9, 2019 in Paris.
