Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macronpositively assessed the exchange of retained persons between Kiev and Donbass and the achievement of a deal to transit gas from Russia through Ukraine, the Kremlin’s press service said.
A telephone conversation between the leaders was initiated by the French side.
“A positive assessment was given on December 29, 2019 between Kiev and the Donbass of the exchange of retained persons, as well as the conclusion at the end of 2019 of a” package “transaction on the transit of Russian gas to Europe through the territory of Ukraine,” the statement said.
The main aspects of the settlement of the intra-Ukrainian conflict were also considered. The parties emphasized the importance of the consistent implementation of the Minsk “Set of Measures” and the decisions adopted at the summit in the “Norman format” on December 9 last year in Paris.
The leaders raised some issues on the bilateral agenda and agreed to continue contacts.
