The Ukrainian gas transportation system does not withstand competition, because from the beginning of 2020 Bulgaria intends to receive Russian gas through the Turkish Stream.
This statement was made by the Minister of Energy of Bulgaria Temenuzhka Petkova.
She emphasized that the Turkish Stream gas pipeline would reduce energy costs by 5 percent per year.
“We are changing the place where gas is received from Russia. The reason is economic influence and better conditions for Bulgarian consumers, ”Petkova explained.
It is worth noting that almost the entire gas consumed by Bulgaria – about 3 billion cubic meters – the country acquires in Russia.
As News Front previously reported, despite US sanctions, the Turkish Stream gas pipeline will be commissioned on January 8.
