Russian Vice PM declared that “Nord Stream – 2” will be completed

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said that the Nord Stream-2 pipeline will be completed regardless of any US sanctions.

The US President Donald Trump signed a defense budget for 2020 on December 20, which, in particular, provides for sanctions against the Nord Stream-2 and Turkish Stream pipelines. The US demanded that the companies leading their laying immediately stop construction. The Allseas company, which is engaged in the laying of Nord Stream-2, has already suspended work.

“The gas pipeline (Nord Stream-2) will be completed regardless of any sanctions and restrictions. We understand how to do this”, – Kozak said in an interview with the Vesti Nedeli program on Russia 1 channel.

The Nord Stream-2 project involves the construction of two pipelines of a gas pipeline with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Russian coast through the Baltic Sea to Germany, the project participants, in particular, are European companies. Gazprom has repeatedly stated that it is planned to complete it in 2019.
