Former Latvian Foreign Minister Janis Jurkans believes that the country does not have its own foreign policy, Latvia “assents” the US and the EU, which are engaged in the demonization of Russia.
Latvia has been a member of the EU since 2004.
“I personally do not see the ways (for building relations with Russia), I do not see any formula, because we do not have our own foreign policy. We have EU policies, US policies, and that’s all – demonizing Russia. So far, Europe, America and others the allies will consider that Russia is an evil empire, we will assent. So, I don’t see any way for our governments to begin to change even rhetoric towards Russia. I’m not talking about concrete steps”, – Yurkans told the reporters.
