Five Venezuelan soldiers detained in Brazil will receive refugee status, follows from a joint statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense of Brazil.
According to the document, in relation to “five military personnel from Venezuela discovered by the Brazilian army in Brazil on December 26 during a planned patrol of the border territory”, a procedure will be launched for obtaining refugee status with the participation of a special humanitarian group of the armed forces of Brazil.
