The US Navy spent most of the past year in the Black Sea

The US Navy ships entered the Black Sea eight times in 2019. Thus, in total, they stayed here for 240 days. This was reported by the press service of the US Navy in Europe and Africa and the Sixth Fleet.

At the same time, the message emphasizes that in the past year, the American presence in the Black Sea was the longest than ever before.

“In 2019, eight warships operated in the Black Sea. If you combine this with the forces of our allies in the Navy, the general friendly forces of the Navy were present at sea for two-thirds of the year”, – said James Fogto, the commander of the US Navy in Europe and Africa.

At the same time, he assured that the goals of such an expansionist policy are supposedly to “deter any aggressors”.
