Led by Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission has set a course for the preservation of the environment, which Poland’s numerous coal-fired power plants do not at all correspond to. The Belarusian political scientist Aleksey Dzermant told about this on Saturday, December 28.
According to him, the current situation opens up new prospects for the BelNPP, which in the future can help Poland level the electricity shortage due to the likely closure of thermal power plants, which occupy a significant place in the country’s economy.
“The fact is that in Poland coal industry occupies a significant place in the economy, which is not very environmentally friendly and in connection with the new “green” course of the European Commission led by Ursula von der Leyen this will become an additional serious problem for it”, – the expert explains.
At the same time, he noted that when Warsaw establishes electricity supplies from BelAES, part of the Polish money will go to Russia.
“Half of the profits from exports from BelAES will go to Rosastom. Yes, Russia is not only oil and gas”, – Dzermant emphasizes.
The political scientist is confident that in this way it will be possible to establish relations between Warsaw and Moscow, which were overshadowed by the extremely Russophobic policy of the Polish elites. You can talk as much as you like about the new Iron Curtain, Dzermant continues, but this alignment will not bring anything good.
