The LPR announced two shelling by security forces in one day

Ukrainian law enforcers violated the ceasefire twice a day, firing on the territory of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic, RIA Novosti reported at the representative office of the People’s Republic of China in the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC).

According to the representative office of the People’s Republic of China in the Joint Ceasefire Monitoring and Coordination Center, on December 25, Ukrainian law enforcers violated the silence regime twice. The new ceasefire regime in Donbass took effect from 00.01 on 21 July, but did not last 24 hours.

“On December 26, two shootings were recorded by Ukrainian armed groups”, –  a representative of the LPR said.

He specified that Ukrainian law enforcers fired 120-millimeter mortars and BMP weapons at settlements controlled by the LPR, Nizhny Lozovoye and Golubovskoye.

In April 2014, the Ukrainian government launched a military operation against the self-declared LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the state revolution in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13,000 people fell victim to the conflict.

The issue of settling the situation in Donbass is discussed, in particular, during meetings of the contact group in Minsk, which has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict since September 2014. However, even after the ceasefire agreements between the parties to the conflict, shootings continue.
