Russia and Turkey conducted joint patrols in Aleppo

Russia and Turkey have conducted joint patrols of the Syrian-Turkish border in Aleppo Province in Syria, said at a briefing the head of the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties in the SAR, Major General Yuri Borenkov.


“Another joint Russian-Turkish patrol took place along the route Garib-Tahtik-Tahtani in the Aleppo Province. Covering the convoy from the air was provided by helicopters of the All-Russian Helicopters”, –  it was reported.

In addition, Russian military police patrols continued along the Kamyshly – Mabrouk power station, Kamyshly – Sagir Faoukani, Ain Isa – Baytman in Haseke Province, Ajami – Begekli, Ajami – Membij in Aleppo Province.
On October 22, the Russian Federation and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding of 10 points, in particular, on the introduction on the Syrian side of the border with Turkey outside the Turkish Operation “Source of Peace” zone of the Russian military police and the Syrian border service to facilitate the withdrawal of Kurdish detachments and their weapons 30 kilometers from the Syrian-Turkish border. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the withdrawal of Kurds was completed ahead of schedule. After that, joint Russian-Turkish patrols began.
