Moscow disappointed Washington – the deadlines for completing the construction of Nord Stream-2 came out

Despite attempts by the United States to torpedo the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, the project will be completed in the coming months.

Such a statement on Thursday, December 26, was made by Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak.

According to him, first it is necessary to carry out some “additional work of an organizational nature”, which will make it possible to assure the construction of the pipeline due to the resource that Russia has at its disposal. Thus, it will not be necessary to attract the Swiss company Allseas, which stopped work due to the threat of US sanctions.

“We have less than 160 kilometers left, because most of the work has been completed. The project is completed by about 94 percent”, – the minister said.

As News Front previously reported, the US Congress dragged through the military budget a new package of sanctions that concerned the Turkish Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. Such a move caused a storm of indignation in both Berlin and Ankara. At the same time, Turkey even threatened the United States with retaliatory sanctions. Germany, in turn, although it called the actions of the American administration unacceptable, did not dare to take mirror measures. The representative of the German government explained this by saying that US sanctions target private companies, not the state.
