Syrian authorities have signed contracts with two Russian oil companies for the exploration of oil fields on the Syrian section of the Mediterranean shelf, RIA Novosti, oil minister of the SAR Ali Ghanem told RIA Novosti.
Syrian presidential adviser Buseyn Shaaban said on Wednesday that Syria, together with Russian companies, has begun exploration for oil and gas fields in the Mediterranean.
