Almost 900 refugees from Lebanon and Jordan returned to Syria within 24 hours

More than 300 people returned from Lebanon to Syria in a day, and more than 550 refugees came from Jordan, according to the information bulletin of the reception, distribution and accommodation center, published on the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense.


“In the past 24 hours, 882 refugees returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from foreign territories, including 327 from Lebanon at the Jeidet Yabus and Tell Kalah checkpoints (98 women and 167 children) and 555 from Jordan at the Nasib checkpoint (167 women and 283 children)”,  –  the bulletin says.

It is noted that two refugees returned within 24 hours to their places of permanent residence within the country.
It is added that the engineering units of the Syrian Armed Forces have carried out demining tasks in Damascus and Zemrina (Deraa province). Within 24 hours, 2.3 hectares of land were cleared of mines and 31 explosive ordnance items were discovered and destroyed.
